Thank you for the well wishes, and glad I could bring back some memories for you. Having so many kids can be quite the handful at times, but we wouldn't trade them for all the world.
At present time, I cannot get one. I do not know anyone local that can either take me out for driving lessons, or watch the kids while my husband takes me out to learn. I have never had a driver's license before, so I have to first learn to drive. Once we have settled in here more and met more of the people around us, this may become a possibility. It is something I plan to remedy just as soon as possible, but it isn't something that can help right now, and the right now is what we are struggling hardest with.
My husband and I made the leap to start college. We want to provide a better stability for our family. We have six children here full time and three more every other weekend. We've found ourselves in a delimna. We NEED the education to make a better financial situation for our family. Putting the figures onto paper, we would need two full time jobs in addition to full time schooling just to make ends meet. We could buy the extra time we need for my degree to be finished and me to get a job that pays well enough to cover expenses while my husband finishes his degree, however, we need a co-signer to get a student loan. Does anyone know of anywhere that assists individuals who do not have good credit with getting additional funding to help with living expenses? I just cannot imagine hubby being able to handle two full time jobs and full time school.
Our van does not allow us to take everyone with us places. It only has four seats in it right now, and until we can get more seats for it, we are stuck with that. I do not have a driver's license, so hubby having a full time job and me having a full time job becomes more impractical with that factored in. We live some 21 miles out of town, just a trip to the grocery store takes an hour in driving alone. I know there has to be answers out there. I just cannot figure out where to even start finding the solutions and feel as though I am repeatedly hitting my head on that perverbial brick wall.
Thanks for reading, and for any suggestions anyone has. We truly appreciate them.
I am a SAHM of 10, six here full time, three more every other weekend, and one that has passed over to the other side. We are working towards improving our lives and finances. I fully intend to get a driver's license for the first time in my life, just as soon as I possibly can. Right now my husband and I are due to start online college courses on the 27th of this month. This leaves us excited, terrified, anxious, elated, and a host of other emotions as we try to figure out how to move forward with this endeavor.
